Waterform Technologies is the exclusive Australian distributor for ultra violet disinfection equipment manufactured LIT UV Technologies, including for all sales enquiries, installation & commissioning requirements and service support.

LIT UV Technology is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of UV disinfection systems for municipal drinking water applications. A research based production company founded in 1991, LIT Technology’s areas of expertise are the development, manufacture and use of water treatment systems for water disinfection using Ultraviolet (UV) radiation; development and production of UV radiation sources; and development and implementation of technical water treatment innovations.

With precision engineering facilities in Germany, including in-house lamp production, LIT UV represents a quality solution for municipal ultra violet disinfection applications.

UV STRIKE CLOSED REACTOR (INLINE)

Validated (O-Norm, DVGW) Closed Reactor UV systems for drinking water. UV STRIKE DUV-A Closed Reactors units are designed and validated according to international standards (DVGW and O-Norm) for UV disinfection of drinking water and process water disinfection applications.

High-efficiency low-pressure amalgam lamps and latest technology components allow for compact configurations and reduced footprint. The stainless steel chambers are custom manufactured to suit application.

Advantages

  • Fast and reliable disinfection
  • Powerful UV lamps with an operating lifetime of more than 12000 hours
  • Sophisticated automatic lamp and UV dose monitoring system
  • Versatile design capabilities to increase flow capacity
  • Simple installation, operation and maintenance
  • Low capital and operating costs
  • Compactness at high capacity

UV lamps Some of the main benefits include

  • Long working life of over 12,000 hours
  • High UV-C efficiency
  • High maintenance of the UV-C output during the guaranteed lamp life
  • No liquid low mercury content:
  • Ridged mechanical structure
  • No additional measures against mercury spill required
  • Narrow-band radiation spectrum, coinciding with an optimal germicidal effect
  • Zero ozone generation

The UV lamps are controlled by electronic regulating ballasts to provide optimal electrical efficiency and minimize heat dissipation.

500 – 900W Amalgam UV lamp

LIT’s Lamp researchers have been able to compress more power at high efficiency in a compact lamp structure. LIT UV DB500 lamp technology reduces power consumption and lamp replacement costs and as a consequence, lowering the carbon footprint to less than 1/3 in comparison to conventional Medium Pressure lamp technologies when comparing ultra violet disinfection technologies.

All DUV-A systems have UV lamps developed by LIT engineers especially for drinking water disinfection. These amalgam high intensity lamps with outputs ranging from 350W to 900W, provide three times more UV intensity than conventional mercury low-pressure lamps. LIT amalgam lamps have longer service life – more than 16,000 hours of continuous operation. Low depreciation of UV radiation intensity during lamp life and increased stability against water temperature variations guarantee a most effective disinfection process during the lamp’s life. The spectrum of UV lamps is optimized for the maximum germicidal effect.

OPEN CHANNEL ULTRA VIOLET DISINFECTION

The UV SWORD series incorporates the latest advances in germicidal lamp technology, electronics and hydrodynamic modelling. The compact modular design of UV SWORD system allows engineers to configure UV systems according to customer specific requirements providing most cost effective solutions.
UV SWORD channel systems are the ideal choice for disinfection of secondary and tertiary treated wastewater effluent, validated to 35% UVT. The flexible modular design of the UV SWORD series allows UV disinfection technology to be used in a wide range of flow capacities, for waste water stations of small communities to large-scale municipal WWTPs.

UV SWORD series advantages

  • State-of-the-art low-pressure high-output amalgam lamps
  • Validated performance – USEPA guidelines and NWRI
  • Long guaranteed lamp operating lifetime of 12 000 hours
  • Effective chemical and mechanical cleaning technologies
  • Extensive, flexible monitoring and control capabilities
  • Reliable Electronic Ballasts increase the overall system efficiency
  • Accurate UV sensors provide greater operational security

UV Modules

UV SWORD UV disinfection systems have a modular design for flexible, easy system integration, installation and operation. Each UV SWORD UV module comprises of high power low-pressure amalgam lamps arranged in two vertical columns. The UV lamps are sealed in quartz sleeves which are placed in a horizontal position, parallel to the wastewater flow in the channel. UV modules can be removed from the bank independently from each other by hand or with an auxiliary hoisting device.

All open channel UV modules are equipped with germicidal lamps that were developed by LIT engineers especially for wastewater disinfection. These amalgam high intensity lamps provide three times more UV intensity than conventional mercury low-pressure lamps with outputs ranging from 350W to 800W. LIT’s Lamp researchers have been able to compress more power at high efficiency in a compact lamp structure. LIT UV DB600 lamp technology reduces power consumption and lamp replacement costs and as a consequence, lowering the carbon footprint to less than 1/3 in comparison to conventional Medium Pressure lamp technologies. LIT amalgam lamps have long service life: more than 16.000 hours of continuous operation. Low depreciation of UV radiation intensity during lamp life and increased stability against water temperature variations guarantee a most effective disinfection process during the lamp’s life. The spectrum of the UV lamps is optimised for the germicidal effect.
